Hi all

In advance of our meeting tomorrow evening, organised so we can to go over in more 
detail than what we can normally discuss about the objectives and progress of the 
Ledbury Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) during our scheduled Committee and 
Working Party meetings, here is some info on the proposed agenda and discussion 
items.

Since several Councillors have never been closely involved with this or the previous 
version of the NDP, and given this is probably the most important thing on our Council 
agenda at the moment when considering its impact on planned and future 
developments around the town, I have assumed basic or little knowledge to start with 
before discussing the plan’s objectives and timescales. 

I suggest we see this session as a ‘consultation’ of Councillors views on the NDP as we 
near preparation for the first round of public consultation on the new NDP proposals 
(expected from around mid-April) so the outcome can be viewed as evidence for the 
inspector to see that all Councillors have been briefed upon the plan and are in 
agreement to how we have proceeded. So it is important that you attend if at all 
possible.

I don’t expect you to be able to read everything that is attached before tomorrow 
evening, but as the Chair of the NDP Working Group I will go through the key elements 
of each document anyway in the following order to ensure even the most uninformed of 
us about NDPs can get a realistic understanding of the process and be able to comment 
upon the recommendations in the ‘current status briefing’ document.

-	What is a Neighbourhood Development Plan (read at least appendix 1 if 
possible)
-	What is a settlement boundary (
-	Original approved scoping document for the NDP WP in June 2019
-	Current project plan timescale summary
-	Budget and funding
-	Current status briefing document

If you don’t already have a version of the current NDP, hard copies are available from 
the office or you can download it from the website (currently in 3 sections, but planned 
to be consolidated into one as part of uploading the complete information record onto 
the Council website).
